An interstitial deletion of 8kb has removed the proximal part of the l(2)gl gene.
Deletion of approximately 8kb DNA from approximately 11.5kb to 19kb (coordinates with respect to proximal end of a cloned l(2)gl region, close to the tip of 2L) which is replaced by an insertion of approximately 6.5kb DNA.
Characterized by a roughly 6.5kb insertion in addition to an approximately 8kb deletion; mutation maps within an EcoRI-BamHI fragment
