Detailed Description
Statement

Homozygous females show no significant loss of fecundity when shifted to 29oC, however the viability of the eggs laid by these females drops from 39% to near zero within four hours of the temperature shift. The viability of eggs laid by homozygous females is restored to pre-temperature shift levels within one day after returning the females to the permissive temperature. After 8-12 hours of exposure of homozygous mothers to 30oC, a large proportion of homozygous larvae derived from these females show transformations of the thoracic and/or abdominal segments towards a denticle pattern resembling the eighth abdominal segment. Few, if any, heterozygous larvae derived from these females have transformations of denticle belt patterns.

Dominant suppressor of z mutants.
