Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Homozygotes have abnormal bristles, the phenotype being intermediate between f and Bl. The posterior scutellar bristles are often pale and discoloured. Viability and fertility are poor in homozygotes. Heterozygotes appear wild-type.

Homozygote has short, twisted bristles intermediate between f and Bl mutant phenotype; postscutellars often pale; viability and fertility reduced. Heterozygote is wild type. f1/+;E(f)1/+ slightly more extreme than f1. f1/f1; E(f)1/+ has an extreme forked phenotype and hairs are forked. f1/f1; E(f)1/E(f)1 rarely survives. RK3.

Dominantly enhances the Blunspecified, funspecified and Sbunspecified phenotypes. The posterior and sometimes anterior scutellar bristles are hooked, with the hook directed upwards, in E(f)1/+ ; Sbunspecified/+ flies. E(f)1/E(f)1; funspecified/funspecified is almost completely lethal.
