Detailed Description

Growth rate of first instar larvae is variable. Mosaic analysis demonstrates mutant phenotype is autonomous. Individuals survive when Dp(1;4)wm65g, Dp(1;3)wm49a or Dp(1;3)N264-58 is present. Surviving males have rough, reduced darkened eyes, vibrissae are sparse and orbital, ocellar and vertical bristles often absent. Wing veins are thick and the inner wing margin has incisions. Males are fertile.
