Description

Transgenic construct that contains a Ecol\lacZarm.PV reporter flanked on each side by an insulator (scs' and scs respectively) to mitigate any chromosome position effects. A 4.9kb EcoRI genomic fragment containing lncRNA:roX1 (lncRNA:roX1t4.9) has been inserted (upstream of the arm promoter of the lacZ reporter) to test whether the fragment has a role in dosage compensation. The lncRNA:roX1 fragment is in 3'-5' orientation relative to the lacZ coding region.
