287bp deletion within the wrm2 open reading frame (ORF), the 3' ORF encoded by the bicistronic wrm locus. The mutation results in a frameshift in wrm2. Complementation analysis shows that the function of the wrm1 ORF (the 5' ORF encoded by the bicistronic wrm locus) is unaffected in this mutant.
Deletion of 287 nucleotides and insertion of "TACTG" near the amino terminus of the wrm2 ORF, the 3' ORF encoded by the dicistronic wrm locus, causes a frameshift.
