    Description

Genomic fragment encompassing the Ank2 locus (derived from BAC clone BACR03I22) in which all sequence specific to the XL protein isoform (corresponding to residues 2402-11623 of this isoform) has been deleted. This results in loss of expression of the XL protein isoform without affecting expression of the L protein isoform.

    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

Expression of Ank2XL-Δall in a Ank2f00518/Ank2f00518 background in larvae results in neuromuscular junctions exhibiting defective microtubule organization and synapse morphology, and the type 1b axons innervating NMJs exhibit aberrant axonal microtubule accumulations, as compared to controls.

    Statement
    Reference

Expression of Ank2XL-Δall in a Ank2f00518/Ank2f00518 mutant background fails to rescue the decreased microtubule core filament area seen in futschK68/futschK68 mutant larval neuromuscular junctions.
