UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
viable, with Scer\GAL4C587
The expression of mRpS22HMC06144 under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL leads to larval lethality; expression under the control of Scer\GAL4VP16.nos.UTR is viable but leads to female sterility; expression under the control of either Scer\GAL4bab1-Agal4-5 or Scer\GAL4C587 is viable and females are fertile.
The expression driven by Scer\GAL4VP16.nos.UTR, but not by Scer\GAL4bab1-Agal4-5, leads to the absence of germ cells in the ovary, even at the tip of the ovariole where the germline stem cells reside.
