    BAC clone CH322-120M19, which includes Ge-1. The naturally occurring polymorphism found in Ge-1EME (78bp indel in the fifth exon, which reduces the length of the serine-rich linker region by 26 amino acid residues) has been introduced into the Ge-1 coding region.

    Flies carrying Ge-1Δ78.CH322-120M19 are highly resistant to to Sigma virus; when assayed 10-16 days after infection, only 1.6% of flies carrying Ge-1Δ78.CH322-120M19 show symptoms of infection compared to 69.6% of control flies carrying Ge-1+tCH322-120M19.
