Wdr62Δ3-9/Df(2L)Exel8005 transheterozygous adult do not show changes in the size of the central brain or optic lobe, as compared to Wdr62Δ3-9 heterozygous controls.

Wdr62Δ3-9/Df(2L)Exel8005 is largely lethal at the pupal stage, with around 25% adult escapers; mutants are developmentally delayed.

Loss of microtubule-organizing center (MTOC) activity on the apical centrosome during interphase leads to two centrioles devoid of microtubules in Wdr62Δ3-9/Df(2L)Exel8005 third instar larval neuroblasts.

Wdr62Δ3-9/Df(2L)Exel8005 third instar larval neuroblasts display a centrosome asymmetry phenotype, with weaker microtubule intensity on maturing centrosome and metaphase spindles compared to wild type.

Wdr62Δ3-9/Df(2L)Exel8005 third instar larval neuroblasts are more sensitive to cold, responding with an increased number of depolymerized microtubules during interphase and decreased microtubule regrowth following cold exposure compared to wild type.

Wdr62Δ3-9/Df(2L)Exel8005 third instar larval brains are significantly smaller compared to wild type, with significantly reduced neuroblast numbers and significantly increased cell cycle length.

aspt25/+, Wdr62Δ3-9/Df(2L)Exel8005 and aspt25/+, Wdr62Δ3-9/+ adults do not show changes in optic lobe size, as compared to heterozygous controls; aspt25/Df(3R)BSC519, Wdr62Δ3-9/+ adults show a smaller optic lobe that is similar to aspt25/Df(3R)BSC519 but does not show changes in the size of the central brain, as compared to controls; aspt25/Df(3R)BSC519, Wdr62Δ3-9/Df(2L)Exel8005 adults show a smaller optic lobe than aspt25/Df(3R)BSC519 adults and a smaller central brain than controls.
