    Heterozygous adults which have a maternally inherited null mutation of Ube3a show learning defects (significantly reduced performance in a aversive phototaxis suppression assay compared to controls).

    Heterozygous larvae which have a maternally inherited null mutation of Ube3a show learning defects (reduced performance in a taste-aversion paradigm).

    Homozygous adults have severe defects in the mushroom body, including fused β-lobes and missing or folded α-lobes.

    Heterozygous adults which have a maternally inherited null mutation of Ube3a do not show mushroom body defects.
