Detailed Description

Expression of Irk2Scer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in minor vein defects in ~20% of wings, similar to Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 in the absence of a UAS transgene. Very little apoptosis is seen in these flies.

No wing vein defects or blistering are seen when Irk2Scer\UAS.cDa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.

One copy of dpphr92 does not enhance the wing vein defects seen when Irk2Scer\UAS.cDa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096.

One copy of tkv7 does not enhance the wing vein defects seen when Irk2Scer\UAS.cDa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096.

Comments

Expression of Irk2Scer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI partially rescues the wing defects seen in male Df(3R)Exel6194/Df(3R)irk2B mutant flies. All phenotypes except for the loss of the L5 vein are fully rescued, although the proportion of flies exhibiting this phenotype is reduced from 92% to 22%.

Expression of Irk2Scer\UAS.cDa in the posterior compartment of the wing disc under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E partially rescues the wing defects seen in Df(3R)Exel6194/Df(3R)irk2B mutant flies. All phenotypes except for the loss of the L5 vein are fully rescued, although the proportion of flies exhibiting this phenotype is reduced from 92% to 37%.
