UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a 500bp inverted repeat.
Expression of tmodNIG.1539R under the control of Scer\GAL4UH3 severely disrupts the formation of myofibrils in the indirect flight muscles. However, approximately 10% of the myofibrils have almost normal looking Z-discs, and in these cases the sarcomeres are shorter than normal. Some thin filaments fail to terminate in the H-zone of the mutant sarcomeres.
Scer\GAL4Hk-UH3, tmodNIG.1539R has sarcomere phenotype, suppressible by DAAMEx1
Scer\GAL4Hk-UH3, tmodNIG.1539R has indirect flight muscle cell phenotype, suppressible by DAAMEx1
The indirect flight muscle defects seen in animals expressing tmodNIG.1539R under the control of Scer\GAL4UH3 are suppressed by DAAMEx1, with most of the double mutant myofibrils having nearly wild-type sarcomeric organisation and almost normal sarcomere length.
