Expression of KhcGL00330 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 leads to abnormal aggregation of mitochondria in oocytes, which also display very little ooplasmic streaming; the progeny of the KhcGL00330-expressing females die as embryos.

Expression of KhcGL00330 RNAi under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 results in delocalization of osk and grk mRNAs and some of the delocalized grk mRNA is translated to protein in the oocyte of stage 10 egg chambers.

Expression of KhcGL00330 under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 results in the formation of abnormal actin foci in the oocyte and delocalization of the osk, grk or bcd mRNA (but the ability of the osk mRNA to oligomerize is not affected) as well as frequent mislocalization of the oocyte nucleus.
