Overexpression of tupdsRNA.Scer\UAS in the notum territory with Scer\GAL4MS248 results in many extra scutellar bristle, although no extra dorsocentral bristles are observed.

Overexpression of tupdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4MS248 engenders a decrease in the number of dorsocentral bristles.

Overexpression of tupdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the formation of up to two supernumerary scutellar bristles per heminotum.
