VL3 Larval muscles expressing mtmJF01114 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU or Scer\GAL4twi.PU exhibit nuclear positioning defects. Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU-driven expression in larval VL3 muscles induces significantly shorter internuclear distances and significantly longer distance between nuclear lines, but similar nucleus-muscle edge distance, as compared to controls; embryonic LT muscles show increased distance between dorsal end of the muscle and the nearest nucleus, but not the ventral end. Scer\GAL4twi.PU-driven expression in larval VL3 muscles induces shorter internuclear distances, but no changes in nucleus-muscle edge distance or distance between nuclear lines, as compared to controls; embryonic LT muscles show no changes in distance between dorsal or ventral end of the muscle and the nearest nucleus.
