Expression of thsScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Or47b.7.467 leads to hyper-wrapping of the VA1v antennal lobe glomerulus by ensheathing glia during pupal development, due to an excessive number of glia around it. The adjacent glomerulus VA1d is also slightly hyper-wrapped but the effect does not extend to the DA1 glomerulus (which is not in directly bordering VA1v). Conversely, expression under the Scer\GAL4Mz19 driver results in hyper-wrapping of the DA1 (with a slight effect on VA1d too) but not the VA1v.
Expression of thsScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU increases glial cell membrane formation, with more glial processes ensheathing the fascicle of photoreceptor axons, and also glial processes invade the fascicle to contact the central axon (which rarely happens in wild type).
