65% of embryos expressing salsScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR fail to hatch at 29[o]C. The remaining embryos hatch, but crawl very slowly and later died.
Approximately 90% of primary muscle cells isolated from embryos expressing salsScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR have completely lost the striated pattern of thin and thick filaments when examined after culture for 5 days at 29[o]C . Approximately 7% of primary muscle cells isolated from embryos expressing salsScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR have myofibrils with an aberrant striated pattern with longer than usual sarcomeres.
Expression of salsScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR rescues the myofibril defects seen in primary muscle cultures derived from myoblasts dissociated from salsf07849 mutant embryos
