65% of embryos expressing salsScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR fail to hatch at 29[o]C. The remaining embryos hatch, but crawl very slowly and later died.

Approximately 90% of primary muscle cells isolated from embryos expressing salsScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR have completely lost the striated pattern of thin and thick filaments when examined after culture for 5 days at 29[o]C . Approximately 7% of primary muscle cells isolated from embryos expressing salsScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR have myofibrils with an aberrant striated pattern with longer than usual sarcomeres.
