Embryos derived from wild-type females mated to males expressing psqJF03109 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PU show four major defects. Early nuclear divisions are asynchronous, and chromatin bridging, chromatin fragments dissociated from spindle fibres and narrow metaphase spindles with small pieces of condensed chromatin (resembling haploid metaphase spindles) are seen in the syncytial blastoderm.
No obvious overgrowth is seen in wing discs expressing psqJF03109 under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544.
