Expression of incKK108908 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to enhance RNAi effects) results in sleep defects: the flies show a reduction in sleep duration compared to controls, with a reduction in the average sleep bout length.

Expression of incKK108908 under the control of Scer\GAL430Y (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to enhance RNAi effects) has no affect on sleep.

Expression of incKK108908 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO during development (using RU486 to control the timing of expression) results in reduced sleep duration, while expression of incKK108908 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO during the adult stage only does not result in sleep defects.
