Description

Imprecise excision of the P{EPgy2}EY01065 insertion, resulting in a deletion that includes Bx 3' UTR sequences (proximal deletion breakpoint is within the Bx 3'UTR.

Imprecise excision of the progenitor insertion, resulting in deletion of 64% of the sequence encoding the Bx 3' UTR. The coding sequence is unaffected.

Heterozygotes have extreme wing defects.

Mutants show loss of wing margin. Extra dorsocentral bristles are present on the notum and there are extra sensory bristles on the residual anterior wing margins.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The wing defects seen in BxD110/BxMS1096 flies are not affected by expression of mir-9aScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096.

The ChiE homozygous phenotype of loss of dorsocentral bristles and presence of a slight thoracic cleft is enhanced by hemizygosity for BxD110.

The mutant wing phenotypes of BxD110 and ChiE are mutually suppressed in BxD110/+ ; ChiE flies.
