Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR>mblGD13374 display moderate embryonic lethality (around 17%) increasing to more than 30% in larval stages.

The body wall musculature of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR>mblGD13374 third instar larvae display several abnormalities such as muscle splitting as well as loss of muscle fibers or presence of extra fibers. In addition, the muscles display a hyper-contracted phenotype.

Third instar larvae expressing mblGD13374 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU do not show any significant defects in the lamina plexus in the brain compared to controls but the rhabdomere length in the adult eye is significantly reduced.
