UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Vast majority of flies expressing ballGD16956 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU fail to eclose and the surviving adults are flightless. At 29[o]C almost all flies die as early pupae. A number of severe ultrastructural defects are observed in the sarcomeres of indirect flight muscle myofibrils: the Z discs and M-lines are fragmented and the filaments ragged.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in shorter neuroblast lineages (less daughter cells per neuroblast) in the larval brain compared to controls.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in mild defects in the shape of ganglion mother cells in the larval brain.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in extreme defects in the shape of neuroblasts in the larval brain.
Adults expressing ballGD16956 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
