UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of Ca-α1DGD1737 under the control of Scer\GAL4shakB.lethal.4.1 leads to a decrease in locomotion of third instar larvae.
Expression of Ca-α1DGD1737 has no effect on calcium currents in the adult MN5 neuron when expressed in the neuron under the control of Scer\GAL4D42 (combined with Scer\GAL80Cha.PK to suppress expression in cholinergic interneurons). No effect is seen even when Dcr-1GD11429 is present to enhance the RNAi efficiency.
Adults expressing Ca-α1DGD1737 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
