Detailed Description

In adults previously entrained under 12h:12h light:dark cycles, constitutive expression of RnbGD12299 driven by either Scer\GAL4tim.PU or Scer\GAL4Pdf.PU, adulthood-only expression driven by either Scer\GAL4Pdf.PU or Scer\GAL41118 and temporally-controlled by Gal80[ts], or expression only during development driven by Scer\GAL4Pdf.PU and temporally-controlled by Gal80[ts], leads to significant increases in the circadian period, despite of insignificant changes in the proportion of rhythmic individuals, upon shift to constant darkness conditions, as compared to controls; constitutive expression under control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU alone leads both to a significant increase in the circadian period and to a significant decrease in the proportion of rhythmic individuals upon shift to constant darkness conditions, as compared to controls.

In adults maintained under constant darkness conditions, the expression of RnbGD12299 under the control of Scer\GAL4Pdf.PU leads to a significant increase in the dendritic tree area of s-LNv neurons, as compared to controls.

Adults expressing CG7837GD12299 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Adulthood co-expression of RnbGD12299 and Hr51miRNA.Scer\UAS.a, driven by Scer\GAL41118 and temporally-controlled by Gal80[ts], enhances the increase in circadian period observed upon the adulthood expression of either RnbGD12299 alone or Hr51miRNA.Scer\UAS.a alone.
