UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
The expression of UxtGD8958 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH leads to ectopic bristles in the eye, as compared to controls; expression under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 leads to the neuromuscular junctions of third instar larval muscles 6/7 exhibiting small terminal boutons, which present a significant decrease in microtubule loops, as compared to controls.
Adults expressing l(2)35CcGD8958 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
