The larval optic lobe does not develop a lamina when RPA3GD4799 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4C855a.

The outer proliferation center (OPC) neuroepithelium of the developing optic lobe has an abnormal morphology in late second instar larvae expressing RPA3GD4799 under the control of Scer\GAL4c768. The mutant animals gradually lose neuroepithelium cells during the early to mid third larval instar, while there is an increased number of medulla neuroblasts compared to wild type. By the late-third instar, very few neuroepithelium cells are left in the mutant brain lobe and almost all cells in the OPC are differentiated into neuroblasts. The lamina of the optic lobe is missing and the medulla cortex is severely reduced in size in mutant late third instar larvae.

Clones expressing RPA3GD4799 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU in the neuroepithelium of the developing optic lobe have a significantly lower proliferation rate compared to control clones at 72 and 96 hours after hatching.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in loss of neuroblasts in the larval brain associated with increased size of the remaining neuroblasts.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in shorter neuroblast lineages (less daughter cells per neuroblast) in the larval brain compared to controls.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in mild defects in the shape of ganglion mother cells in the larval brain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in mild defects in the shape of neuroblasts in the larval brain.

Depending on the insertion line used, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR can result in early pupal lethality or late pupal lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in semi-lethality, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 80-90% or 90-100% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum, depending on the insertion line used.

Co-expression of either NScer\UAS.cSb, ykiS168A.Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 or numbdsRNA.Scer\UAS.THU1674 significantly rescues the loss of neuroepithelium cells seen in the optic lobe of third instar larvae expressing RPA3GD4799 under the control of Scer\GAL4c768.

Co-expression of Stat92EΔNΔC.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 does not rescue the loss of neuroepithelium cells seen in the optic lobe of third instar larvae expressing RPA3GD4799 under the control of Scer\GAL4c768.
