Description

P{EP} insertion within the neur transcription unit. In addition, studies indicate that the element is in the correct orientation to drive overexpression of the neighbouring hyx gene (overexpression from the inserted P{EP} element gives the same phenotype as overexpression of hyxScer\UAS.cMa).

Co-expression of hyxEP9 leads to a partial rescue of the L2-L5 intervein growth and patterning defects cause by expression of ptcScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4salm.E.

Co-expression of hyxScer\UAS.cMa with Scer\GAL4C-765 driven ci75.Scer\UAS leads to a striking, albeit incomplete, reversion to wild-type wing morphology. The wings recovered from such crosses often develop extra vein material anterior to wing vein L2, and wing basal cell 1 is never fully restored.

The wing phenotype of Scer\GAL4salm.E>lgs17E.Scer\UAS flies is suppressed by coexpression of hyxEP9.
