CskQ156Stop/CskQ156Stop somatic clones induced specifically the eye disc are rarely recovered in third instar larvae or early pupae and the animals do not show any significant delay in pupariation.
Females carrying CskQ156Stop mutant germline clones do not show ring canal size defects. However, they do show egg chamber packaging defects.

The tumor overgrowth of somatic clones (induced specifically in the eye disc) expressing Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU is suppressed when the clones are also homozygous for CskQ156Stop. The clones show highly increased levels of apoptosis, have an intact basement membrane and only very rarely form secondary tumors distant from the eye field in third instar larvae. The larvae display a delay in pupariation.
