Expression of nkdScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4B119 results in loss of nearly all the sternite bristles in the pupal abdomen.
Expression of a weakly expressing line of nkdScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4B119 results in a teardrop-shaped ventral eye and causes loss and lateral displacement of sternite bristles in the ventral abdomen. Expression of a more strongly expressing line of nkdScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4B119 results in ventral eye reduction and almost complete loss of sternite bristles in the ventral abdomen.
nkdUAS.EGFP/Scer\GAL4da.G32 rescues nkd3
nkdUAS.EGFP/Scer\GAL4da.G32 rescues nkd3
Scer\GAL4prd.RG1/nkdUAS.EGFP partially rescues nkd3
Expression of nkdScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 rescues the nkd3 embryonic cuticle phenotype.
nkd3 embryos that are also expressing nkdScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 show a partial restoration of ventral denticle bands. Complete denticle bands in these embryos have a wild-type assortment of denticle morphologies, but subtle patterning abnormalities.
The naked cuticle phenotype of nkd3 embryos is rescued by expression of nkdScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32.
Expression of nkdScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 rescues the cuticle defects of nkd2/nkd3 and nkd3 embryos.
