Cultured primary neurons derived from mutant embryos show a significant increase in the number of filopodia compared to control neurons.
Recruitment of cells to developing ommatidial clusters occurs normally and without delay in homozygous clones in third larval instar eye discs. The actin cytoskeleton appears abnormal in these discs, with actin accumulating in the mutant cells.
