Expression of nvyScer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16, under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-C253, causes multiple sensory organ precursors to arise from the same proneural cluster resulting in clusters of neurons on the pupal notum. Adults of this genotype have extra bristles in some areas of the thorax, but lack bristles in other areas. In clones expressing nvyScer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 under the control of Scer\GAL4neur-GAL4-A101 the sensory organ precursor progeny to adopt a B cell fate. The resulting sensory organs have multiple neurons and can have more than one sheath cell. In the adult, these clones lack bristles. Clones expressing nvyScer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16, under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237, produce clusters of neurons on the pupal notum and patches of deformed, bald cuticle in the adult.
