A Tdrd3EY06846 mutant background suppresses the rough eye phenotype seen in flies expressing Fmr1sev.PW. Flies show an almost complete absence of necrotic ommatidia and a better organised photoreceptor cluster when compared to expression of Fmr1sev.PW in a wild type background.
