Expression of hkbScer\UAS.cMa throughout the CNS, driven by Scer\GAL4sca-4512, induces the formation of additional glial cells, most of which appear to be subperineural glia.
Embryos expressing hkbScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4fkh.PH do not show any change in either the order or number of salivary gland cells that change shape and invaginate, but later embryos show an expansion of the salivary gland lumen that increases in severity with age. Salivary gland cells of embryos expressing hkbScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4fkh.PH have increased apical areas compared to wild type. At the ultrastructural level, more apical surface membrane is generated than normal.
Scer\GAL4sca-4512, hkbUAS.cMa has subperineurial glial cell | increased number phenotype, enhanceable by gcmUAS.cBa/Scer\GAL4sca-4512
Scer\GAL4sca-4512/hkbUAS.cMa is an enhancer of subperineurial glial cell | increased number phenotype of Scer\GAL4sca-4512, gcmUAS.cBa
Co-expression of gcmScer\UAS.cBa and hkbScer\UAS.cMa in the embryonic CNS, driven by Scer\GAL4sca-4512, induces greater levels of additional subperineural glia than the expression of either transgene alone.
