      The mitochondrial derivatives in elongated spermatids of homozygous males are irregular and swollen.

      Mitochondria remain clustered during mitosis in mutant early germ cells in the ovary, in contrast to wild type. Mitochondria also cluster at the ends of the fusome in later cysts, in contrast to wild type.
