Detailed Description

spn-F2/spn-F2 or spn-F2/Df(3R)tll-e pupae have dendrite pruning defects (16-18h after puparium formation). Dendrites develop normally in sensory neurons (C4da) of spn-F2/spn-F2 larvae.

Both hemizygous and homozygous spn-F2 individuals are female sterile and show bristle defects.

spn-F2 and spn-F2/Df(3R)tll-e ventralised eggshells exhibit a variety of phenotypes. The majority of these eggs (approximately 84-88%) do not have appendages, with smaller percentages exhibiting a single appendage or fusing of the appendages at the base.

Dendrite pruning defects in spn-F2/spn-F2 pupae are not suppressed when IKKεGD5424 is driven by Scer\GAL4ppk.PG.

spn-F2/spn-F2 partially suppresses the dendrite severing and apoptosis seen in larvae with IKKεScer\UAS.cKa overexpressed by Scer\GAL4ppk.PG in combination with Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B at non-permissive (29[o]C) temperatures.

spn-FScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP or spn-F8D.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP expression driven by Scer\GAL4ppk.PG rescues impaired dendrite pruning in spn-F2/spn-F2 pupae (16-18h after puparium formation).

spn-F8A.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP or spn-FΔSCD.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP expression driven by Scer\GAL4ppk.PG partially rescues impaired dendrite pruning in spn-F2/spn-F2 pupae (16h after puparium formation).

spn-FΔCC3.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP expression driven by Scer\GAL4ppk.PG fails to rescue dendrite pruning defects in spn-F2/spn-F2 pupae (16h after puparium formation).
