Border follicle cell clones expressing Pvf1EPg11235 under the control of Scer\GAL4tub show mild defects in posterior migration towards the oocyte.

Border follicle cells expressing Pvf1EPg11235 under the control of Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 show mild defects in posterior migration towards the oocyte.

When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 or Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 there is no detectable phenotype. Expression driven by Scer\GAL4en-e16E or Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 causes incompletely penetrant male terminalia rotation phenotype. Penetrance is increased by the addition of extra Pvf1, in the form of P{UASp2-Pvf1.Rb}.

Border cells in the ovaries of Pvf1EPg11235; Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 animals form significantly fewer long cellular extensions (20-40 μm) and intermediate cellular extensions (10-20 μm).

When Pvf1EPg11235 is driven by Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6, a modest but detectable delay on border cell migration is seen: All border cell clusters move by stage 10, and one third arrive at the oocyte.

Co-expression of Pvf1EPg11235 and PvrScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 results in strong defects in border cell migration, with no migration being seen in approximately 60% of stage 10 egg chambers.

The posterior migration defects seen in border follicle cell clones expressing Pvf1EPg11235 under the control of Scer\GAL4tub are not affected if the cells are also homozygous for pucPBac3929.

The posterior migration defects seen in border follicle cells expressing Pvf1EPg11235 under the control of Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 are slightly enhanced if the cells are also co-expressing hepAct.Scer\UAS.

Border cells in the ovaries of Pvf1EPg11235; PvrDN.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 animals form lack long cellular extensions (20-40 μm) and form only very few intermediate cellular extensions (10-20 μm).

When PvrScer\UAS.cDa is added to Pvf1EPg11235, Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 an enhancement of the border cell migration phenotype is seen. A quarter of the border cells at stage 10 are at the oocyte, but another quarter do not move at all. The addition of vnEPg35521 has no effect. the addition of Pvf1EPg11235 to EgfrDN.Scer\UAS when driven by Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 leads to an enhancement of the border cell migration phenotype. Border cells do not reach the oocyte at stage 10. They usually migrate less than halfway, and are sometimes found off track.
