Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
nurse cell & nucleus | germ-line clone
When ago4 mutant clones are induced in the ovary, some cysts have fewer nurse cells than wild-type, some have more, and many degenerate. In addition, strongly DAPI staining regions of nurse cell nuclei (which may respond to compact heterochromatin) are enlarged compared to wild-type.
Adult eyes mosaic for mutations in ago are composed mostly of mutant tissue, exhibiting a proliferative advantage over their wild-type twin-spots.

CSN5quo-1, ago4/ago[+] has increased cell death | oogenesis phenotype
CSN5quo-1, ago4/ago[+] has abnormal cell number | oogenesis phenotype
ago4/ago[+] is an enhancer of eye phenotype of MycUAS.cZa, Scer\GAL4GMR.PU

CSN5quo-1, ago4 has nurse cell phenotype
CSN5quo-1, ago4/ago[+] has nurse cell phenotype
CSN5quo-1/CSN5[+], ago4 has nurse cell phenotype
Unlike either single heterozygote, ovaries from CSN5quo-1; ago4 transheterozygous females exhibit ectopic cell death and increased or decreased nurse cells per egg chamber. Decreased nurse cell numbers per cyst are accompanied by an increase in nurse cell ploidy, suggesting that the decrease results from a block in cell division without a block in DNA replication. In addition, strongly DAPI staining regions of nurse cell nuclei (which may respond to compact heterochromatin) are enlarged compared to wild-type.
