Flies expressing ranG19V.Q69L.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PK or Scer\GAL4elav.PLu die during the late first instar stage. First instar larvae show no abnormal behavioural phenotypes. No defects in axonal outgrowth or axon fascicle development are seen during embryogenesis. Flies expressing ranG19V.Q69L.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4h-1J3 die during the late second instar stage. First instar larvae show no abnormal behavioural phenotypes. No defects in axonal outgrowth or axon fascicle development are seen during embryogenesis. Flies expressing ranG19V.Q69L.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4pros.PMG die as pharate adults with no morphological defects. First instar larvae show no abnormal behavioural phenotypes. No defects in axonal outgrowth or axon fascicle development are seen during embryogenesis. Flies expressing ranG19V.Q69L.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sev.EP.M show partial loss of photoreceptor cells (including loss of R7), resulting in a rough eye phenotype. Flies expressing ranG19V.Q69L.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF show complete loss of photoreceptor, pigment and cone cells. The development of the interommatidial bristles appears unaffected.
