When rprC.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, flies are viable and exhibit a dosage sensitive elimination of eye tissue. Loss of ommatidia and disorganisation of mechanosensory bristles are also seen.

co-expression of rprC.Scer\UAS and grimScer\UAS.cNa leads to a loss of both midline glia and VUM neurons from all segments of the nerve cord. The addition of Iap2Scer\UAS.cWa to rprC.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF flies leads to a partial repression of the eye phenotype. 50% of males exhibit a wild-type eye, and 50% exhibit a milder roughened eye phenotype.
