Detailed Description

slmbL.hs; slmb8/slmb9H4-17 transheterozygous ovaries exhibit defects in stau localisation and in the organisation of epithelial follicle cells. Mutant egg chambers exhibit multiple cell layers.

slmb8, slmbL.hs mutants, in the absence of heat shock, exhibit early lethality. A single 30 minute heat shock at 37[o]C during first instar is enough to allow some larvae to reach the wandering third instar stage 4 days later.

When slmbL.hs is used to rescue slmb8 mutants to adulthood, mutant adults completely arrhythmic in constant dark (DD) conditions. Ventral lateral neurons are normal. The addition of slmbScer\UAS.cGa driven by Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf or Scer\GAL41118 rescues this phenotype.

Lowering aPKC levels, by a aPKCk06403 heterozygous background, partially suppresses the multilayering cell phenotype found in slmbL.hs;slmb8/slmb9H4-17 mutants.
