A mutant form of Hsap\APP which lacks the extracellular domain (but contains the signal peptide, βA4 region and cytoplasmic tail) tagged at the C-terminus with Tag:MYC is expressed under the control of UASt regulatory sequences.

Flies expressing Hsap\APP695SPA4CT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in the adult mushroom bodies under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.247.Switch exhibit a long-term memory defect.

Expression of Hsap\APP695SPA4CT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC, under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf, results in increased axonal arborization of the sLNv.

When Hsap\APP695-Swedish.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4Appl.G1a or Scer\GAL4179Y an occasional accumulation of organelles is seen in larval axons (about 10 clogs per 50μm). When Hsap\APP695SPA4CT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC is driven by Scer\GAL4Appl.G1a, apoptosis is seen in the larval brain.

Flies expressing Hsap\APP695SPA4CT.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4Mz1087.hx do not have a wing blister phenotype.
