head & ganglion & embryo
Overexpression of Hsap\OTX2hs.PN for 20 minutes at stage 7-8 results in moderate disruption of the central and peripheral nervous systems in the trunk whereas the anterior part of the brain is largely unaffected.
Overexpression of Hsap\OTX2hs.PN in a wild-type background at stage 7-8 by a continuous heat shock of over 20 minutes at 37oC results in the production of transformed or ectopic central nervous system structures in approximately 10% of embryos. These include neuralised embryos, dramatically increased brain lobes and ectopic head ganglionic structures, as well as fused and enlarged ventral ganglia. These transformations are much less pronounced if the heat shock is carried out at stage 9-10, and are not seen if the heat shock is carried out later than stage 12.
Hsap\OTX2hs.PN is a suppressor of visible | recessive phenotype of oc1
Hsap\OTX2hs.PN is a suppressor of embryonic brain & commissure phenotype of oc2
Hsap\OTX2hs.PN is a suppressor of embryonic protocerebrum phenotype of oc2
Hsap\OTX2hs.PN is a suppressor of ocellus pigment granule phenotype of oc1
Hsap\OTX2hs.PN is a suppressor of ocellus lens phenotype of oc1
Hsap\OTX2hs.PN is a suppressor of adult head bristle phenotype of oc1
Partially rescues the embryonic brain defects of oc2 animals.
Rescues the oc1 phenotype; oc1 flies carrying Hsap\OTX2hs.PN have either ocellar lenses and/or associated ocellar pigments. The number of macrochaetae on the vertex of the head is also rescued towards wild-type in these flies.
An Hsap\OTX2 cDNA is expressed under the control of a heat shock promoter.
