Description

A 4.5kb genomic fragment extending from approximately -4300 to +180bp relative to the tim transcription start site is fused to a tim cDNA which includes a 32 amino acid sequence within the N-terminal region (this sequence is not present in timmTim1).

Detailed Description

Flies expressing timmTim4 adjust their locomotor activity rhythms earlier than control flies.

Temperature-mediated molecular re-entrainment is faster in flies expressing timmTim4.

timmTim4 flies kept in constant light conditions show locomotor arrhythmicity, as do wild-type flies.

Females carrying the timmTim4 transgene do not show the high levels of diapause that tim01 females show.

timmTim4 does not affect normal circadian rhythms in a wild-type background.

The addition of timmTim4 into flies with a pertim.Aa background does not further shorten the circadian period of flies.
