Detailed Description

Expression of aptScer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 leads to the formation of severe wing abnormalities in the adult, with very small, blistered wings, disruption of vein patterns and extra abnormal bristles in the wing margin.

Wing disc clones expressing aptScer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 exhibit significantly increased cell death, as compared to controls.

Expression of aptScer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 leads to complete loss of the wings and halteres in adults.

Wing discs expressing aptScer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 exhibit a significant decrease in the size of the dorsal region of the disc, as compared to controls.

Expression of aptScer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 results in complete failure of border cell movement in stage 10 egg chambers. The border cells remain at the anterior tip of the egg chamber.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement

Expression of slboScer\UAS.cRa suppresses the defects in border cell cluster detachment seen when aptScer\UAS.cEa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6. The border cell cluster invades into the nurse cells. The "stretched border cells" seen when slboScer\UAS.cRa is expressed alone are almost never seen in these flies.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Co-expression of aptScer\UAS.cEa and BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 leads to overgrowth of the wing disc, as compared to controls.

Complementation and Rescue Data
Comments

Expression of aptScer\UAS.cEa under the control of Scer\GAL4Crz.PU completely rescues the reduced ethanol sedation sensitivity of apttdf-PΔ3/+ flies.

aptScer\UAS.cEa; Scer\GAL4elav-C155 partially rescues the embryonic trachea phenotype and completely rescues the embryonic CNS phenotype of apttdf-PΔ3 homozygotes.

Rescues the tracheal phenotype but not the germ band retraction defect.
