Mutant pharate adults show a bent leg phenotype.
No eye phenotype is seen in these mutants.
2/3 of homozygotes die as pharate adults, while the remainder survive to adulthood. These adults die after about 1 week at 25oC, but are fertile and can survive up to three weeks at 18oC. These flies also exhibit cell adhesion and morphogenetic defects. 1/4 display venation defects, 1/3 display wing blisters. These blisters are usually small and centrally located, although blistering of the whole wing (a balloon wing) can occasionally be seen. The most frequent venation defects include a small, extra vein that originates from the third longitudinal vein, an additional anterior crossvein, and a "delta" thickening at the intersection between the posterior crossvein and the fourth longitudinal vein. EcRk06210/EcRM554fs flies are fully lethal. FlyBase curator comment: Since the "k06210" insertion lies within EcR and the EcR-intronic CG14589 it is not clear which disruption might be responsible for the lethality.
