Detailed Description

ph-p602 ph-d401 double heterozygous flies in a Df(4)ED6366 background have a much darker and more uniform eye colour than in Df(4)ED6366 alone.

ph-p602 clones induced in brains show a normal complement of neurons at the wandering larval stage, but around 1-2 days APF the neuron clones become transformed into unrecognizable neurons of a homogeneous nature. Ecdysone is required for this transformation as it is not observed when ph-p602 mosaic brains are cultured in the absence of 20-hydroxyecdysone.

Mutation changes the level of w expression in ph-plac+3 flies; eye colour is darker.
