Eb104524/Eb12 escaper females are fertile.

Mutant embryos show defects in the coalescence phase of epithelial wound repair, showing a significant delay before contraction.

Eb12/Eb104524 and Eb12/Eb15 escapers often hold their wings in abnormal positions, including downward, held up or parted. All of these flies are flightless, whether or not they hold their wings in a normal position.

Although Eb12/Eb104524 flies walk in a coordinated way, once turned upside-down, they fail to recover the correct body position as promptly as wild-type flies; mutant flies often take more than two minutes to right themselves while recovery in wild type is less than a second.
