    Heterozygotes have extra wing veins.

Heterozygotes have a mild rough eye phenotype. There are multiple R7-like cells in each ommatidium. The flies have extra wing veins. Heterozygous females show a weak dominant sterility; 10.9% of the eggs laid by these females mated to normal males fail to hatch and 15.6% of these nonviable embryos have a reduction in the number of abdominal segments. Homozygous females are essentially sterile due to defects in vitellogenesis.

Supernumerary R7 cells and extra wing veins.

    Additional Comments
    Genetic Interactions
    Statement
    Reference

The heterozygous phenotype is enhanced by one copy of clnSF3-2.

Fully suppresses the phl1 phenotype in terms of viability and the morphologies of the eye and wing veins. The extra wing vein and eye phenotypes of rlSu23/+ flies are significantly enhanced by Df(2R)rl10b or rl1. The posterior defects of embryos derived from homozygous fs(1)M31901 females is not suppressed if the females are also carrying one copy of rlSu23. Enhances the tor11D phenotype; considerable numbers of embryos laid by females heterozygous for rlSu23 and tor11D fail to hatch at 28oC. Dominantly suppresses the proliferation defects seen in homozygous phl1, Dsor1Gp158 or Dsor1r1 clones in imaginal discs.

Suppresses the reduced-eye and increased cell death phenotypes of WGMR.PG.

Phenotype can be suppressed by P{hs-argos.S}.
