lz^r1/lz^gal4 transheterozygous and lz^gal4 hemizygous third instar larvae present a significant increase in both the number and size of circulating crystal cells (identified as Lozenge-positive), as compared to lz^gal4 heterozygous controls.

Eye phenotype is wild-type. Transheterozygotes with lz^rfg exhibit severely roughened eyes and transheterozygotes with lz^77a7 show less severe roughening of the posterior edge of the compound eye.
